Monday Manis, Mantras and Magic

There's just two days until Halloween, and this Monday post is going to be themed in honor of this scaretastic holiday. I've also added a lot more to this post because of the occasion. I've kind of been obsessed with anything and everything Halloween lately, and it definitively shows. Fall is my favorite season and it's only a coincidence that I was born in the middle of it. I've been searching for scenic pictures of the beautiful fall changes to nature since there's not much to see where I live, sadly enough.

Here are some of my favorite examples of the season that I've been drooling over:

Now that I've shared those (the book is my favorite), I can completely bombard you with tons of different manis that scream for Halloween. (Wasn't expecting that to rhyme the way it did)
Great candy corn mani, it kind of makes me want to go out and buy a bag. :)
The high shine in the design gives it a bit of a glare, but the bat detailing and the crescents of gold glitter add an unexpected glamification, if you will.
Fangtastic! (yes, I'm being very corny. I guess I'm in just one of those moods.)
The detailing on this one is amazing! I don't have the time or patience for it, but Kudos to the one who does!
This is probably one of the only circumstances where headstones and mortuaries would be cute.
A more classic take on the spooky elements. Love the spider!
Another glittery, less spooky mani that is just as tasteful as the others. Although, the glitter polish will be a nightmare all its own when it's time to repaint your nails.

I always look for things that inspire me; and nothing is more inspiring than the written word. This time, I found two little mantras to share that are kind of in the magical area of inspiration.

I find that Halloween in itself is pure magic. You can be whom ever you want to be without being judged. You can channel your inner crazy while dressing up and just having fun. There's so much behind the holiday and its roots are another form of amazement. If you don't know how All Hallows Eve was started, you should look it up. It'll be a great read and certainly get you in the mood for some creative times of celebration in its honor.
I hope you have some great plans for this Halloween and I hope you enjoyed this post. Time has been flying lately (at least for me), and I can barely keep up. It seems like there's one big even coming up after another. (Worry factor; Don't even get my started about Christmas)
Enjoy what's left of your day and I'll be posting again soon.

Busy Bee

If you haven't already guessed by the title and the extent of my absence from posting, I've been busy lately. Let's just say I bit off more than I could chew this month. However, I have stitched my multitasking mess back together the best I could and have forced myself to re prioritize. Which just means that I grabbed myself by the hair (metaphorically speaking of course) and told myself to focus. I'm not an organized person. A total disadvantage with my current hobbies. There's one word I've begun to praise lately, and it's balance. I've learned that once you make a commitment, you have to honor it instead of setting it aside while you try something new. I guess you can compare it to that new pair of shoes you love that you always want to wear with everything instead of the classic pairs you've appreciated for long periods of time. Then the new pair becomes old and you start to miss the old reliable black pumps or rich brown riding boots. It's a normal lesson that I, unfortunate enough as it is, have had to be reminded of a couple of times. And now, to save my readers from anymore having to do with another one of my "me problems", I think I'll end this post. I hope you at least enjoyed the picture I edited with some of my favorite quotes. Check in again tomorrow for a big Monday post! :)

Product Newbies!

With the fall season hitting hard, there's been a lot of new things that have recently come out that I just had to share. I'm so excited, partly because of the products, and partly because it's my birthday today! (Which kind of sucks because it's in the middle of the week, but I don't mind all that much) This is a newer kind of post for me, and I was wondering if any of my readers would want to see more like it? If you do let me know in the comments, but for now, let's get on with it shall we!

Some of you may know this, but Elf recently came out with a new palette collections. It features three of the classic Disney  female villains. There's one for Cruella De Ville, the Evil Queen from Snow White, and Malificent from Sleeping Beauty. Each palette comes with their own style of products including eyeshadow primer,  liquid eyeliner, false lashes and glue, two cheek and lip pencils, and eight eyeshadows. Each palette is only $10 and can be found at your local Walgreens. The sets also come with How-To books that show you day and night looks. How fun is that??!!!

Maybelline has also launched some limited edition Baby Lips! There are three new shades that come in packs of two; one with a permanent shade and a limited, and one with two limited shades. The new shades are Twinkle, Coral Crush, and Pink Wink. Next time I'm at my local drugstore, I'm picking these up! All the shades sound amazing! I can't wait to try them!

As if I haven't talked enough about beauty, a must have for your bookshelf is in the works by Lauren Conrad. After writing "Lauren Conrad Style", she is debuting a new book called "Lauren Conrad Beauty". The book will hit stores on October 16th, but until then, you can pre-order it on Amazon.com. The cover is another gorgeous profile of Lauren rocking a striking berry lip, winged liner, and her signature loose waves. Amazing.

All of these products are on my shopping list. I love new things. Especially, when they're from my favorite people and brands. What do you think of these new releases?

Don't miss an all new kind of post from me on the 5th! It'll be called "Friday Fab Finds". It's another recap of some amazing things that I find surfing the web throughout the week.
Happy Wednesday! (And Happy Birthday to me!)

Monday Manis, Magazines, and Mantras

Well, it looks like it's time to drag myself out of bed for another Monday Morning. I should be glad that I survived the last one! In fact, this is the first Monday of the month of October! (At least there's one good thing about it) Anyway, while I'm trying to cheer myself up, here are some things that might make your guys' day a little better too:

As usual, Monday calls for an array of manicures. I was searching for at least an hour the other night, completely caught up in all the amazing posts and finds for these cute nails. Unfortunately, I could only choose a few for this post, so I chose some that I hoped will kick off this month well.

This mani has some gorgeous glitter texture that was to die for! Too bad it'll be a pain to remove. :)

Speaking of things that shine, nude bases and bedazzled detailing is a super glam effect that I personally have yet to try.

This mani was one of my absolute favorites! It's so artistic and polished; a complete stunner!

Here's a fun fall themed design that reminds me of the pretty trees as their leaves start to fall. I wish I had the skill to recreate it.

Now moving on to the second "M" themed word for this Monday themed post. :) Recently, I found a magazine spread of Kendall Jenner that I thought was a gorgeous and mature way to break away from the Kardashian staged stereotype (not that I have anything against them). Kendall was featured in Genlux with a cover of her intensly staring into your eyes and boldly saying "I am Kendall. Kendall Jenner. I am not a Kardashian." Love it and the rest of the spread is just as beautiful, so go check it out!

We all need a little pick-me-up during the days we dread, and a great mantra that sticks with us provides the perfect impact. Lately, I've been find TONS of amazing quotes that I'm liking, writing down, and so on. This mantra is currently my desktop wallpaper and I absolutely adore it!!!

Well, that's all for this Monday. I hoped you enjoyed some of these internet treasures (does that sound weird?). I need to prep for the days events, so I wish you luck today. May you find happiness in something.
